Inspired by the elusive distinction between art and design, my work aims to give new artistic life to ephemeral printed products. By cutting, folding, and reassembling marketing catalogs, product brochures, magazines, envelopes, scrap paper and junk mail, I reconsider how the fundamental use of color, form, pattern and content is presented, experienced, utilized, and preserved. A commentary on the lifespan of printed materials, and a call for more sustainable design practices, my work is a homage to the process of design and to the beauty and versatility of paper.
Oh, and lately, I dabble in macramé too.
